CAMPGROUND RESERVATIONS

All reservations (except those at The Twain Store) must be made through the National Reservation System. You may visit their Web Site at (http://www.reserveusa.com) or call 1-877-444-6777 for an operator assisted reservation. For campground information only, call 530-283-5559.

RESERVATIONS MAY BE MADE AT THE FOLLOWING AREAS AND CAMPGROUNDS

Little Grass Valley Reservoir
Reservations are possible at the Red Feather , Running Deer and Horsecamp only. All sites are reservable and you may reserve one, or as many as is needed to accomodate your group.The area is at 5000' elevation and is heavily wooded with conifers of mixed varieties. Temperatures run in the 70's and 80's but summer thunder showers are possible. Red Feather and Runing Deer border the lake and have flush toilets and piped-in water. All sites have a paved spur, picnic table and a fire ring-BBQ. Horsecamp is within walking distance of the lake and has gravel spurs, picnic table and fire ring-BBQ. No hookups are available. There are a total of 110 reservable sites in the three areas, suitable for either tent or RV with a maximum occupancy of 6 persons or 2 vehicles per site.

Bucks Lake
Reservations are possible at Hutchins Group Camp only. The area is at 5000' elevation and is heavily wooded with conifers of mixed variety. Temperatures run in the 70's and 80's but summer thunder showers are possible. The campground is near the lake and has vault toilets and piped-in water. No hookups are available. There are 3 sites, suitable for either tents or RVs with a maximum occupancy of 24 persons or 8 vehicles per site. All sites have a paved spur, four picnic tables, a fire ring and a large BBQ.

Feather River Canyon
Reservations are possible at Hallsted and Spanish Creek Campgrounds only. Hallsted is at 2800' elevation and Spanish Creek is at 3000". Both are heavily wooded with conifers and hardwoods of mixed varieties. Temperatures run in the 80's and 90's and summer showers are rare. The campgrounds border the Feather River and have piped-in water. Hallsted has flush toilets and Spanish Creek has vaults. No hookups are available. There are 20 sites in both locations, suitable for either tent or RV with a maximum occupancy of 6 persons or 2 vehicles per site. All sites have a paved spur, picnic table and a fire ring-BBQ. You may reserve one site or as many as is needed to accomodate your group. Frequent passing trains are a common occurance everywhere in the canyon.

Antelope Lake
Reservations are possible at selected sites in Lonerock, Boulder Creek and Long Point Campgrounds. The area is at 5000' elevation and is heavily wooded with conifers of mixed varieties and some hardwoods. Temperatures run in the 70's and 80's but summer thunder showers are possible. The campgrounds border the lake and have vault toilets and piped-in water. No hookups are available. There are approximately 70 reservable sites, suitable for either tent or RV with a maximum occupancy of 6 persons or 2 vehicles per site. All sites have a paved spur, picnic table and a fire ring-BBQ. You may reserve one site or as many as is needed to accomodate your group. Long Point Group Campground has four campsites that will accomodate 25 people each. All sites have tables and fire rings.

Twain Store and RV Park
The RV park and store are situated in the Feather River Canyon, 60 miles east of Oroville on highway 70. Just a short walk from the river, the area is popular with gold miners for panning and dredging. Reservations are encouraged any time and particularly for holiday weekends due to the small size of the park. The area is at 2800' elevation and is wooded with conifers and hardwoods of mixed varieties. Temperatures run in the 80's and 90's and summer showers are rare. The park has flush toilets, showers, a laundromat, sanitary dump station and full service store with a full line of groceries, mining supplies, a deli and propane. All sites have water and electric hookups and the dump station is free for guests.
