Feather River Canyon

 

The Feather River Canyon is at 2500 ft. elevation. The area is heavily wooded with conifers and hardwoods of mixed varieties. Temperatures run in the 80's and 90's during the days with cool evenings. Summer showers are rare. The campgrounds border the East and North forks of the Feather River and provide fishing, swimming and gold panning. Several local businesses provide groceries, propane and camping and fishing supplies.

Northwest Park Managenent operates five U.S. Forest Service campgrounds in the Feather River Canyon with a total of 87 sites. Campgrounds are near the river and have flush toilets and piped in water.No hookups are available. All sites have a parking spur, picnic table and fire ring-bbq. Sites will accomodate up to 27 ft trailers comfortably and occupancy is limited to 6 persons and 2 vehicles per site.. Maximum stay is 14 days. Reservations are available at Hallsted and Spanish Creek. Facilities are generally open from April to October.
