Sly Creek Recreation Area is at 3550 ft elevation. Trees are a combination of mixed Conifers and hardwoods. The summers have warm days and cool nights with occasional summer showers. Oroville Wyandotte Irigation District owns the two campgrounds on Plumas National Forest land under permit from the U.S. Forest Service and contracts with Northwest Park Management for their operation .The Lake provides swimming, fishing and water skiing. There is a boat ramp and picnic area available. California Department of Fish and Game plants the lake with fish regularly. There is a store in Strawberry Valley with a large selection of groceries, ice, bait and souvenirs. Campgrounds are near the lake and have vault toilets and piped in water.No hookups are available. All sites have a parking spur, picnic table and fire ring-bbq. Sites will accomodate up to 24 ft trailers comfortably and occupancy is limited to 6 persons and 2 vehicles per site. Maximum stay is 14 days and sites are provided on a first come first serve basis. Facilities are generally open from May to October.
